A TAVISTOCK man and his two friends are getting on their bikes and cycling for four days to raise money for the Born Free Foundation this week.
Mark Tweedie has been joined by work mates Paul Larcombe and Peter Ellis from Shipman Financial Planning in Exeter, in a sponsored cycle ride from London to Paris in aid of the Born Free Foundation — an international organisation for wildlife protection.
The men will be joining a team of wildlife supporters and cycling enthusiasts for the four day, 470km ride.
Paul Larcombe said: 'We wanted to raise funds to support its good work and the idea of getting fit at the same time was really appealing. Each rider has a £1,500 fundraising target. Seventy-five miles a day for four days in the saddle is a daunting prospect but the reward is passing through the picturesque countryside of rural Northern France, riding past the Arc de Triomphe and finishing the challenge beneath the Eiffel Tower.'
The men will complete the cycle challenge on Sunday, June 12. Anyone wishing to support Mark and the team can make a donation online at http://www.justgiving.com/paul-larcombe">www.justgiving.com/paul-larcombe
