A RIDERLESS grey pony sparked a search in the Pimple area of Whitchurch Common last Saturday amid fears for the safety of its owner.
The pony, fully saddled, was found by the police following reports from the public, and was successfully tethered. The owner was subsequently located and, although having been thrown from the horse, was uninjured.
There had been a search by police helicopter earlier in the day following reports of another riderless horse which was allegedly following a group of Dartmoor ponies towards Yelverton. Police contacted local farms, but despite investigations into late evening neither the horse nor owner were located.
