A KEEN amateur photographer?s eye for a beautiful picture has snapped him top prize in a competition run by his employer.
Richard Elliott from Okehampton, an operater at South West Water?s Prewley Treatment Works, captured the atmospheric picture of mist settling at Brightley during perfect early morning weather conditions for photography.
He entered his picture, River Mist, in the Pennon Group environmental photographic competition ? and was awarded the first prize of a trophy and £100 cash.
Richard said: ?I?ve entered several times before and last year I came runner-up, so I thought I?d concentrate on purely taking photos I thought could win ? the standard is pretty high.?
Richard, who prefers landscape photography, said he would love to have more time to devote to his hobby ? and said he was spoilt for choice for subject matter around Okehampton.
?There are so many nice spots round here,? he said.
