FLORAL displays will be appearing at various locations in Tavistock during the week of January 25-31 as the national ribbon of flowers makes it way to the town.

The displays in Creber's window, the library and the Wharf will be arranged on behalf of the Tavistock Flower Club as part of a national chain of flowers running from Land's End to John O' Groats.

The event begins the year long celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the National Association of Flower Arranging Societies (NAFAS) of which Tavistock Flower Club is a part.

In the spring members of the club will travel to Westminster Abbey to take part in the anniversary flower festival 'REJOICE'.

The NAFAS was founded to cheer up the women of Britain after the war by bringing something of beauty into their lives at very little cost. It is felt this intention is equally appropriate today in this period of economic gloom.
