Okehampton Argyle U15s 4

Kentisbeare Colts 1

THE last time these teams met, Okehampton gave away a good lead and lost 4-6. This time, determined to set the record straight they put Kentisbeare under pressure from the start and were soon rewarded with a good goal from captain Phil Woods who struck the ball cleanly from the edge of the box.

Excellent defending from Elliott Collins and Gary Sizmur denied Kentisbeare any real scoring opportunities until a corner was hand-balled leading to a penalty. Keeper Andy Herrod-Taylor blocked the shot but the rebound was put away for the goal leaving the score level at half-time.

Matt King and Rob Clarke came on after the break and straight away Kentisbeare were under pressure with surging runs from both the subs. Clarke was pulled down in the box and Woods scored from the spot.

From this point on Okehampton attacked with confidence and it was not long before Clarke scored one of his trademark individual goals. Matt King added the fourth following a perfect pass into the box from Clarke.

This week home, kick-off 10.30am.

Ilfracombe U12s 3

Okehampton Argyle U12s 6

OKEHAMPTON dominated in the first half but their many attempts on goal were saved or went wide.

There was a feast of goals in the second half, Okehampton seemed to re-discover that extra pass and final touch which had been lacking.

Wayne Atherton started the scoring when he interrupted a long cross. Rory Honeychurch headed in a corner and soon after scored another with a low shot.

Ilfracombe then scored three but one was an own-goal.

After much good midfield passing Alex Osman went through the defence and shot hard to beat the keeper. Meanwhile the defence were solid with Scott Bradfield and Scott Tremain linking up well to thwart many attacks.

Ashley Clark scored the final goal with a half-volley.

This win takes Okehampton through to the cup final.
