Duchy Division 1 St Teath 0 Mary Tavy 4 MARY Tavy arrived without first teamers Brockington, Pocknell, Dudley, Coole and Downing. But they started well and found themselves deservedly ahead after ten minutes when Phillpotts? shot squirmed underneath the Saints? keeper. Tavy almost doubled the lead when the outstanding young Aaron Gaden saw his sublime chip come back off the bar. Teath had no response as Woodrow and John, who seem to have formed an outstanding defensive pairing, helped by Pedrick and Trebilcock kept the hosts at bay, though Rawlings did make one important save. The second half began as the first finished with Tavy twins Ashley and Aaron Gaden running the show from both wings. Tavy were soon two up as Phillpotts played in Tavy?s ?fox in the box? Stephens and he found his old habits and placed in number two. Tavy defended heroically at times as Teath tried everything to get back in. But Tavy were more dangerous on the attack. Tavy substitute Stephens had Ashley Gaden to thank as he set up Stephens and he clinically dispatched the third. Tavy?s fourth was a brilliant move as Aaron Gaden?s cross came through a crowd of players. Phillpotts, who went on to win man of the match, was on hand and smashed home brilliantly from 15 yards. Special praise must go to Credicott as he returned from missing the last six games and put in a powerful performance along with fellow midfielder Cornish. Tavy have now lost one game in their last five and hope to be continuing their recent revival.
