VILLAGES in West Devon will be visited by a mobile resource unit offering advice for people with a hearing and /or visual impairment over the next few months.
Families, carers, neighbours, friends and professionals are also welcome to use the specially converted and equipped bus.
Trained staff will be on hand to provide support and advice and a comprehensive range of equipment to address everyday difficulties will be available for demonstration, trial and loan.
Visitors to the unit can obtain information and literature on hearing and visual impairment and services available locally and nationally and about referrals to other agencies including Devon Social Services.
There is also sensory awareness training for businesses, employers, residential/nursing homes, clubs and schools.
Devon County Council?s mobile resource unit begins its visits this month and will travel to Bere Alston, Chagford, Horrabridge, Mary Tavy, North Tawton, Okehampton, Tavistock and Yelverton.
