A NEW vehicle which will spread the word of Dartmoor Rescue Group in style and boost operational efficiency has been delivered to the group's Okehampton section.
The sophisticated incident control vehicle has been re-sprayed with bright colours and the Dartmoor Rescue Group livery.
As part of a £1,000 sponsorship deal, LSI Computers, the Redruth and Exeter-based high-tech firm, paid for the re-spray and has provided additional equipment for use in the vehicle during search and rescue operations.
This equipment includes a fax machine, colour photocopier and a power protection device to ensure uninterrupted supply.
The specially adapted Ford Transit vehicle was purchased at a discount from Devon and Cornwall Constabulary.
As well as housing control staff running a search and rescue incident, the vehicle can also double up as a briefing centre.
