I FULLY support Peter Broughton's concerns (Letters, May 19) with regard to the representation of the electorate by our MP, Geoffrey Cox.

I too received exactly the same response from him. His intellectual pretence within such cut and paste letters suggests an indifference towards the opinion of the electorate. To rely on a quote from Edmund Burke, hardly an exponent of democracy, from 200 years ago is disingenuous.

Fortunately, the ballot box still remains.
