Crescent 1 South Zeal Utd 1 BOTH teams succumbed to the windy and bobbly conditions on Saturday and as a result a poor game ended in a draw. Playing against a strong wind in the first half it looked as if Zeal had all but completed the job as this first period ended goalless, and as expected the second half was all Zeal but the visitors struggled to create any clear cut chances. United's Tom Reilly was one of the few players on the pitch who was coping well with the conditions and with 15 minutes gone of the second period a well flighted free kick by Arnie Searle found Tom at the far post and his great header found the top corner of the Crescent net. Zeal never seemed to be in any trouble but with 10 minutes to go a long throw-in was flicked on by a Crescent player and the resulting shot from six yards gave Adam Cann no chance in the Zeal goal. Zeal pushed forward in an effort to regain the lead but several chances went begging late in the game and the home side gained a welcome point. On Saturday Zeal are away to Uplowman, kick-off 3pm.
