A VALENTINE disco was held in Bere Alston parish hall on February 10 when this year's carnival queen and her attendants were chosen.

Jennifer Green, ten, was crowned queen, Natalie Pidgeon, six, and Laura Graeme-Dury, seven, are her attendants and the page is Jonathon Todd, five.

The carnival's grand parade will be on May 5.

l Lent lunches will be held in Bere Ferrers church hall on Wednesdays at 12.30pm throughout Lent.

Profits will be shared between Christian Aid and the Shekinah Mission.
