A WEST Devon woman who was introduced to adult learning after working as a learning support assistant at Okehampton Primary School has recently completed her graduation. Brenda Bourne received her graduation certificate at a ceremony at Exeter Cathedral. Brenda worked for 13 years at Okehampton Primary School as a learning support assistant for students with special needs, where she completed a certificate of higher education as a part-time student for two years. She continued as a full-time student for a further two years through the University of Plymouth to gain her degree and a practitioner?s status in early childhood studies. During this time, Brenda also took GCSEs in English and Maths. Brenda now runs a childcare facility at Mayville, Okehampton. with her daughter Rebekah, who is also a registered childminder, both being accredited through Ofsted. Brenda lives with her husband Chris and has two married children with two boys each of their own, also a son at Bournemouth University and a daughter at Victory Masters Commission in South Africa.
