TWO Okehampton Red Cross volunteers who have given 65 years voluntary service between them were honoured at the Devon Red Cross Volunteer forum in Exeter last week. Wendy Mitchell has worked in just about every activity for the Red Cross over the last 30 years, from first aid, helping supply mobility equipment to fundraising. Jeanette Baker, a former Red Cross nursing officer, has notched up 35 years service. They both received thanks from Angie Newing, the charity's Director for Wales and Western region who noted their dedication in helping people across the world , through their fundraising for disasters, and people around the corner in Okehampton.
