THE completion of a major refurbishment for a Tavistock centre was celebrated last Friday by service users and staff. The open day was held at the Rethink Centre in Abbey Rise for people who work alongside the national mental health membership charity to see the re-vamped building. Tavistock mayor Robin Pike and his wife Diana also attended the event to mark the occasion. l A group of 20 service users and staff from Rethink took part in a ten-mile sponsored walk last Sunday to pay for the photograhic exhibition to be held at The Wharf in Tavistock to coincide with World Mental Health Day in October. The walk raised more than £600 towards the cost of the exhibition. Organisers are on the look out for contributions from anyone who has experienced mental ill-health. A booklet of positive recovery stories will be on sale at the exhibition. Anyone who would like to contribute or for more information, call Maureen Parr at Rethink on 01822 610946.
