AS most of your readers will already be aware, the Royal British Legion Social Club in King Street, Tavistock, closed recently and has now been replaced by a new private members' club, the Tavy Club.
However, the Royal British Legion Tavistock branch is still very much alive and well, and still continues to operate out of the same premises in King Street.
This branch, along with other charitable concerns, runs the local Poppy Appeal, provides the services of the branch standard bearer on request and generally looks after the welfare needs of local ex-service and service personnel.
Accordingly, your readers are reminded that we will continue to provide all the above services in very much the same manner as we have done since the formation of the branch in 1929.
