Horrabridge Rangers 8

Morley Rangers 1

HORRABRIDGE turned in one of their best performances of the season as they completely dominated from start to finish.

It took less then a minute for the home team to open the scoring when Tom Wright played in Josh Birch and he beat the keeper from six yards. Max Burgess then added a further two goals within minutes with two smart finishes.

Rangers continued to play some superb football and Morley just simply could not cope with Horrabridge's fast tempo and quality passing — especially from Jack Northam and Harry Eaton who 'ran' the centre of midfield. Player of the match Courtney Fry added two more and Josh Birch grabbed himself a second when he beat the keeper to the ball to head home into an empty net.

The home side took their foot off the peddle in the second half and Morley scored after 50 minutes. Horrabridge responded to dominate again but only some fine goalkeeping kept the score down. Both Josh Birch and Courtney Fry scored further goals in the half to claim hat-tricks with two quality strikes.

Activate Youth 0

RANGERS played superbly to beat an Activate team who were previously unbeaten in their last six games.

It was the Horrabridge centre midfield of Jack Northam and Harry Eaton who turned on the style to dominate the visitors and with the strike force of Josh Birch, Max Burgess and Alex Pope looking lively, Activate were always going to be in trouble.

Horrabridge scored after 10 minutes when Alex Pope's powerful drive came back of the post for Josh Birch to follow up and slam home the rebound. They added a second after 20 minutes when Max Burgess and Harry Eaton combined well to set up Jack Northam whose shot from an acute angle was too powerful for the visiting keeper and it crept into the back of the net. Aaron Johnson added a penalty 10 minutes before half time when Birch was fouled in the penalty area.

Rangers again played some good football in the second half and Alex Pope was next to strike when he hammered home from 14 yards; five minutes later, home goalkeeper Oliver Cox scored from the penalty spot after a foul on Birch.

Only a series of smart saves from Activate keeper Andy Pond prevented Horrabridge from reaching double figures.

The home side then added a sixth when Harry Eatons pin-point corner was powerfully headed home at the back post by Pope and Aaron Johnson completed the scoring 10 minutes from time when he superbly volleyed home another Eaton corner.

Player of the match was Taylor Kingham.
