DJM U15s Defiance

Horrabridge Rangers 1

Railway Beacon 3

Playing with only 10 men against a strong Beacon side, Horrabridge started well and had a few good chances with Tom Wright, Josh Birch and Jack Northam all going close.

Rangers continued to play good football and with midfield of Wright, Eaton, Kingham and Fry in top form, the visitors defence were kept busy. It was the visitors however who opened the scoring after 20 minutes when Manley headed home from a corner. Horrabridge reacted well and replied almost immediately when Josh Birch did well to beat two players before being upended in penalty area, Rangers' player of the match Harry Eaton duly converted the penalty.

The second half was an even encounter with both teams playing good, passing football. Railway Beacon started to make their extra man advantage count but the Horrabridge defence who had centre-backs Will Glanville and Jack Northam in form and aided by some splendid goalkeeping from Oliver Cox kept Beacon on level terms.

Six minutes from time that Beacon finally broke Horrabridge down courtesy of a rather fluke goal when Cox did well to save a Karl Fisher shot only for the ball to rebound of the striker and creep into the corner of the goal.

Rangers pushed for an equaliser but could not find a way past the visiting keeper. Beacon wrapped up the points with the very last kick when Aquallina scored with a super strike from 30 yards.
