IF you fancy a walk on the moors, in the countryside or on the coast, then a new book, now available in Tavistock, will be of interest.
Plym Ramblers, a walking club based in Plymouth, has produced 'On the Beaten Track 3' — its third book in the series of popular walks.
There are 24 walks highlighted and the distances covered vary between four and eight miles. Each walk has step by step directions and an informative map, as well as plenty of photographs and illustrations.
It includes interesting and unusual features. As well as illustrations and photographs, cartoons and a special 'points of interest' section it provides some entertaining and informative details about each walk.
The book was written by Brian Steele (chairman of the Plym Ramblers) assisted by Chris and Dave Bishop along with fellow members.
Proceeds from its sale will be donated to Children's Hospice South West (Precious Lives Appeal), St Luke's Hospice, Woodside Animal Welfare and Shelterbox.
l Copies of the book can be obtained from Bookstop and the Bedford Hotel in Tavistock or by sending a cheque for £6.50. (to include postage and packing) — payable to Plym Ramblers — to P R Walk Book. 33, Reddicliff Road. Plymstock, Plymouth PL9 9NF.
