THE choir at All Saints Church is experiencing an exciting time at the moment, with the second Northmoor Together evensong concert and a special concert planned for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

The Northmoor Team of 13 local churches is the inspiration for 'Northmoor Together', a special choral evening event. The service is the brainchild of the church's musical director Tim Matthews, who is now in his seventh month in the role.

He said: 'When 50 singers turned up to sing at our first big Northmoor Together choral evensong in February I was amazed. The Oke Times certainly helped get the good news out that something really special is happening at the church on the hill.'

The second Northmoor Together evensong takes place on Sunday April 29, with the church open from 2.30pm for a bring and share tea after the choir practice.

The evensong service starts at 6.30pm.

The service will feature popular hymns and music by Stanford, Purcell and Rutter. All are welcome to attend.

The choir will also kick off Okehampton's Diamond Jubilee celebrations with a Jubilee prom at the church on Saturday June 2 at 7pm.

All Saints Choir welcomes anybody who wants to join and offers a wide range of music.

Tim said: 'Singing is good for you. It raises your spirits and can help you be a happier, healthier person. Why not come along and get involved.'
