DARTMOOR Brewery's newest beer proved a strong stablemate alongside Jail Ale in the real ale tent at last week's Devon County Show.

The brewery launched Legend last March following an expansion at their Princetown premises, where two new fermenting vessels, each with a colossal capacity of 14,000 litres, helped the company to expand the existing brands and accommodate the manufacture of the new beer.

Tina Ryder, regional sales manager for the brewery, said: 'Jail Ale is now seventeen years old, and is one of our premium beers. Legend is just a year old, but has proved to be extremely popular in that time. It's 4.4 per cent, and an easy drinking beer, perfect for the summer!

'Each brewer is only allowed to bring two, so we brought our most prominent brands, and the ones that people really tend to come here for.

'It's going very well, it's going to be another hot one, which is good for us! We've got a lot of people in already. We've actually made the bar a lot bigger this year, which hopefully is proving to be beneficial!'
