SUPPORTERS of the restoration of the railway line through West Devon gathered for a Sunday walk at the weekend.

The Peninsula Rail Group and supporters walked from the former Tavistock Railway Station across the viaduct and through the great cutting towards Callington.

The walk was a chance for the group to update supporters on the progress of the campaign to restore the Plymouth to Exeter high speed line through Tavistock and Okehampton.

The group's website http://www.prg.2day.ws">www.prg.2day.ws now has a clock counting how long it has been since the last train from Plymouth to Exeter via Tavistock and Okehampton was due to turn up.

The count today (Thursday) stands at 46 years, four months and 10 days late.

The group is currently collating information to take to its meeting with the Secretary of State for Transport in the House of Commons on October 22.
