ONE year on and the UK’s only radio station based within a pub has grown from strength to strength thanks to the support of the community.

Radio Walkham has beaten the odds and boomed throughout the area thanks to the tireless efforts of director and creator Paul Hillier and the community backing of the village.

Paul moved to Horrabridge from Wales in December 2016 due to his job and instantly fell in love with the village.

He then had the bright idea of setting up a community radio station from his house.

After discussing his ideas with London Inn landlord Mike Huda he was offered a room above the pub where he could broadcast the station.

Paul purchased all the equipment himself and the station went live for the first time on October 2, 2017.
