DARTMOOR Radio Club will be holding its 27th annual rally this spring bank holiday and there will be traders and exhibitors galore to tempt amateur radio enthusiasts and computer developers.

The rally, taking place at Tavistock College, will see the publishers of two national magazines, Practical Wireless and RadioUser, attending, as well as the editor, Rob Mannion.

There will be a diverse range of activities in amateur radio and the event offers visitors a huge range of electronic, computing and technical equipment for purchase at discount prices.

As well as traders a number of clubs will also be represented. It is hoped Tavistock Dartmoor Mountain Rescue will attend to tell about their activities, and there will be displays from Repeater groups in Mid Cornwall, West Devon and South East Cornwall. The national co-ordinators for amateurs and the Radio Society of Great Britain will also be in attendance, as well as other local clubs.

Plymouth Radio Club and Callington Amateur Radio Club will be on hand to offer advice on how to become a licensed amateur.

Dartmoor Radio Club meets on the first Thursday of the month at Yelverton Memorial Hall at 7.30pm and welcomes visitors to its meetings.

The rally takes place on Monday May 2 at 10.30am. People with disabilities can enter at 10.15am. Entrance to the rally is £2 and free for children.
