?STARTERS? orders? of a different kind are certainly underway at Percy?s Country Hotel and Restaurant at Virginstowe. Tony and Tina Bricknell-Webb, who own the award winning restaurant, are setting up a horse racing syndicate ? and a chance to buy a share in three of their flllies at their Coombeshead Stud. Tony and Tina, who have 16 horses on their 130-acre estate, are planning to start racing the three fillies ? Percy?s Lavender Blue, Percy?s Corismatic and Every Little Helps ? two around April and May and one in June. The couple have already enjoyed success on the highly competitive flat racing circuit with Cullompton trainer Rod Millman. Tony has especially high hopes for Every Little Helps. Tony said: ?At Percy?s our dream has always been to successfully race our home-bred stock. ?That dream came true for us when Lady Chef won at Lingfield and was third at Goodwood in her debut year. Now we want to share that success and satisfaction with our customers and friends.? Each shareholder will have a share in the prize money and if the horse is sold. Tony said: ?The advantage of fillies is they are always going to be worth something at the end of racing, especially if they win. They have the potential to make a lot of money.? The horses will be stabled at Coombeshead and owners will be notified of the fillies? running plans, kept up to date with their condition and form and could go to see them on the gallop at the stud. One big advantage for potential shareholders is that they will have the perfect venue at Percy?s Hotel and Restaurant for a get together to follow their horses? progress.
