THE owners of the computer business Qwerty have decided to close the doors after more than ten years of trading in Tavistock. Qwerty started from the home of Michael Cook and Alison Fife, and moved to its current premises in Pym Street four years ago. Mr Cook said the decision to close had been quite sudden and was based on their need for time to do other things. ?We?ve very much enjoyed running the business, but it?s time for a new challenge, and time we took some holidays,? he said. Alison Fife said: ?We?ve seen the company grow and grow, and we?ve seen a great many changes in technology during that time, as computers have become commonplace.? The couple said existing warranties would still be covered. ?We?re happy to stand by our warranties, as we know that all our supplies have been of high quality; also as personal service has always been an important part of what we had to offer, that only seems fair.? Over the next few weeks, Qwerty will be holding a sale to clear remaining stock. The final day of trading is not yet set.
