A REUNION of carnival queens from the past 30 years is a special feature of Northlew Silver Band's carnival with a difference on November 2.
Instead of crowning a new queen, faces from the past will be taking to the stage in Northlew Victory Hall.
Among her list of contacts secretary of the silver band Pat Carter has managed to track down May Burridge, who now lives in Plymouth and Bridget Cole from Yelverton who were queens many moons ago.
'We thought it would be a good idea to do something different this year and it is a way of attracting more people to the event because it is like meeting up with old friends again,' she said.
'If there is anyone out there who I have not contacted yet please call me on 01409 221384.'
The event on November 2 will begin with a presentation of buttonholes to all the queens at 6.30pm and this will be followed by the fancy dress competition and torchlight procession around the village.
Northlew Silver Band will continue playing in the square as the bonfire burns and the evening culminates in a disco/dance for all the family.
There will also be stalls and sideshows and plenty of refreshments.
