Quagmire of a pitch took its toll on fighting spirit

TAVISTOCK Ladies battled the elements with the weather and the ground and faced an unfortunate defeat. Once again Tavistock were unable to play their usual formation and the quagmire pitch conditions took its toll on the away team's fighting spirit.

The home team seized an early lead and gained three goals in the first half. Tavistock played the advantage and maintained possession in the second half, but despite many great attempts at goal it just did not come together for them.

Totnes eventually managed to break through, claiming their fourth goal, and as Tavistock's fortitude became more vanquished Totnes claimed their unassailable win.
