ORGANISERS of a new arts festival in Okehampton are appealing for artists in West Devon to submit artworks for the event.

The Art Okehampton 13 Festival will be a four-day exhibition of paintings, photographs, ceramics, sculpture and filmmaking, from Wednesday, August 7 to Saturday, August 10.

Works will be exhibited at four major venues in the town. Smaller venues like cafés and empty shops may also wish to participate.

Artists are invited to submit up to four artworks. The event has no submission fees, and is open to artists and budding artists of all age, ability and experience.

The team behind the event is also looking for suitable artists who could be part of the festival by giving workshops or demonstrations.

The organising group, Art Okehampton Festival Group, has so far received funding for the event from the town council and Okehampton United Charity.
