Mount House School has just come to the end of another highly successful academic year, and pupils from the sixth form are leaving for some of the top senior schools in the country. Almost half of the children come from the West Devon and East Cornwall area. They have achieved a 100% pass rate in common entrance to senior schools and 12 pupils out of the year group of 30 have gained 13 scholarship awards to the schools of their choice. Head boy Freddie Jayarajah from Tavistock will be going to Eton. Michael Cousens, also from Tavistock, has won an all- rounder – academic combined with sport — scholarship to Harrow. Head girl India Leigh is bound for Bryanston School in Dorset. Six boys from Mount House will be joining Sherborne, including Edward Dance from Buckland Monachorum. Sherborne School for Girls will welcome Emily Redman from Yelverton who has won an academic scholarship and Elizabeth Jervoise from Sampford Courtenay. Flora Dickinson from Whitchurch and Flora Zajicek who lives at Meavy will join Blundell's School, having been awarded major academic and all-rounder and music scholarships respectively. They will be joined there by Edward and James Mann, and by Harry McKelvey from Okehampton, King's College Taunton will welcome three ex-Mount House boys. Rhys Davies from Gunnislake with a sports scholarship, and Jonathan Parsons from Postbridge. Fern Toynton from Saltash has won a design and technology scholarship to Canford School, and will be joined there by Hannah Donne from Whitchurch. Henry Salmon from Whitchurch is heading for Malvern School on a sports scholarship, whilst Tommy Lyon-Smith and William Wells, both of whom live at Chagford will be joining Exeter School.
