PUPILS at St Andrew's Primary School, in Buckland Monachorum, were treated to a talk about finding fossils recently.

Professer Peter J Davidson, fossil hunter, dinosaur enthusiast, inventor and author of the Professor P series of books, led an assembly for key stage two pupils, providing them with an introduction to the Jurassic Coast.

This included a talk about the common Jurassic fossils found, a reading of a short extract from one of his story books 'Professor P and the Jurassic Coast' about finding fossils, as well as a question and answer session.

Following the assembly, Professor Davidson spent the afternoon working with year three and four pupils in workshops to find out more about fossils.
