STUDENTS from several schools in the Tavistock area recently enjoyed a day revelling in the knowledge and skill of a 'Master Chef'.

Year 5 pupils from TALC (Tavistock Area Learning Community) primary schools and gifted Year 8 cooks from Tavistock College spent a day working with a visiting professional chef Chris Chappell, who runs the kitchen at Okehampton Battle Camp, in a 'Master Chef' event.

Organised by Angela O'Shea, head of Whitchurch Primary School, on behalf of TALC, the event involved students being taught how to bake chocolate brownies.  The demonstration and training was provided by Chris, (pictured right) who then judged the final products but everyone was considered a winner and enjoyed the spoils. The children were delighted in the activities and enjoyed the sweet satisfaction of their talents.
