THE emphasis was on fun as well as competition as Hatherleigh School held its annual sports day.

Running, jumping and being put through the hoop, there was plenty of testing events for the young pupils.

All the boys and girls had a part to play but despite all the effort at the end of the year event no doubt the young athletes will still have plenty of energy left for the forthcoming long, summer holidays.
