AWARDS for All have come up trumps for the Parish Pump ? ensuring that the people of Hatherleigh will continue to be well informed about what is going on in their community. The Pump has received a grant of £2,500 from the Awards for All lottery fund for a booklet maker, computer and printer so the standard of the monthly newsletter should improve. Editor Neil Price says the booklet maker will be available for use by the community for a small charge, initially it will be in the Hatherleigh Area Project Offices above the Fish and Chip Shop and later it will be situated at the New Community Centre. Furthermore, at the Pump annual meeting, it was decided that due to the healthy state of accounts of the Pump, a donation of £1,000 to a local, not for profit organisation, could be made. Any groups wishing to apply should either e-mail [email protected]">[email protected] or drop a request into 41, Bridge Streeet, Hatherleigh or at Tussie Mussie, Bridge Street. The Pump is also looking for a new treasurer and advertising agent, as both gave notice of their intention to stand down during the year at the annual meeting. Anyone interested in becoming involved should contact Neil Price.
