AFTER a successful season for both the men and ladies of Tavistock Hockey Club last year a summer of mixed hockey league games was entered into with renewed vigour.
For the first time, two mixed teams were fielded in the summer league with enjoyment and excellent results for both.
The Pumas team, captained by Rob Kirby, won their league. The Tigers, captained by Sandy Ralph, took second place in their league.
The ladies have also played summer league, captained by Judy Smallacombe, with a good overall result.
The start of the new season will begin for the club with an open session for all, on the Astroturf pitch at Bickleigh Barracks this Saturday, September 2, from 12.30 onwards.
Tavistock Hockey Club is pleased to announce that training throughout this year will be sponsored by the Ordulph Arms, Tavistock. These sessions will start on Thursday September 21 at 7.30pm, also at Bickleigh Barracks, and run on alternate Thursdays thereafter.
