I WOULD like to share a recent experience and let your readers know about a brilliant, local business.

It was 9 am on a normal morning — deep in the Devonshire countryside! I turned on the car engine, put my foot on the accelerator — and absolutely nothing happened. It wouldn’t go forwards and it wouldn’t go backwards. It was rooted to the spot. I had no idea what to do and phoned Richard Walke’s garage.

Within an hour a recovery car AND a courtesy car arrived at my gate. My car was examined, the fault identified (a stuck brake pad) — and it was fixed there and then.

It is rare to find such a prompt and friendly service and I cannot recommend the garage highly enough.
