PROJECTS which can help deliver new ways of achieving a sustainable living on Dartmoor could be eligible for grant funding under a scheme administered by the national park authority.

The Dartmoor Sustainable Development Fund has been operating for two years, during which time it has received more than 160 applications, over 60 of which have qualified for grants totalling £400,000.

The aim of the scheme is to encourage those who live, work or have other interests in Dartmoor to come up with new ideas for achieving a decent quality of life, without having a negative effect on others or the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

The fund receives £200,000 a year to allocate ? and there is still £71,699 to be distributed before the end of March next year. For more information, call Peter Joyce, sustainable development fund officer, on 01626 832093.
