Homeowners and private tenants living in West Devon are being urged to avoid the cost of growing fuel bills by taking part in the HEAT Devon Project.

The HEAT Devon Project provides homeowners and tenants in West Devon with free grants and heavily discounted prices for improving cavity wall and loft insulation levels.

With fuel prices such as electricity, likely to rise by up to 30% in the near future, managers of the HEAT Devon Project say now is the ideal time to improve home insulation levels.

Supported by West Devon Borough Council, people taking part in the HEAT Devon Project will benefit by keeping their homes warmer reducing their heating bills and reducing the levels of potentially harmful carbon dioxide entering the atmosphere.

For those households receiving benefits, the HEAT Devon Project is also able to provide free cavity wall and loft insulation.

Anna Warmington of HEAT Devon said: ?Each home wastes on average £200 every year paying for fuel that has escaped out of the home as a result of poor insulation. With the imminent hike in electricity and gas prices that figure is set to rise even higher.

?So whether you are on benefits or not, the HEAT Devon Project can help keep your home warmer whilst reducing fuel bills,?

Anna urged residents to contact the project, in order to improve the energy efficiency of their homes ? and save themselves money.
