A VERY successful promise auction at Fairplace Church, Okehampton raised the very fine figure of £2,800.
The total could still grow as further donations are still being received following the auction which took place last Friday evening, October 3.
This year marks the Church's Centenary and the total will help clear the final debt on the refurbishment of Fairplace Church.
The Church wish to thank those who contributed promises and goods to sell, those who came to buy and everyone who helped organise the event and make the evening such a success.
l Members of Fairplace Church Wives and Friends Group have reconvened for their autumn session.
The friendly group, meets on alternate Thursday evening at Fairplace Church and welcomes all ladies to join them.
The next meeting takes place tonight (Thursday, October 9) when a talk will be given by Sue Enderson on the wonderful Millennium Quilt which hangs in the Charter Hall.
The group will also be holding an Autumn Fair on Saturday morning, October 18, the proceeds of which will be distributed to various charities in the area.
