THE festive feeling was running high among the packed congregation at the St Michael's Church carol service in Princetown last week — a wonderful community occasion which it is hoped will become an annual event.
Organised by HMP Dartmoor and the High Moor community, the service was taken jointly by the Rev Bill Birdwood from Dartmoor Prison and the Rev Nick Shutt from the local church team.
Music to accompany the service was provided by the Morice Salvation Army Band.
Guests to the service included Tavistock mayor Cllr Mandy Govier, Graham Burrell from HMP Dartmoor, churchwarden Ann Crozier and members of the High Moorland WI team — who provided mince pies and mulled wine after the service.
