MID Devon PCT this week launched a new patient-friendly website. It follows more than six months of work to ensure the public has as much useful online information about the trust?s services as possible. People accessing the site will be able to see a range of interesting health-related information, such as patient leaflets, details of out-of-hours services and instructions for getting to the trust?s four community hospitals, including Okehampton Hospital. Work on the site was carried out using only NHS expertise, limiting costs and ensuring the site can easily be adapted in future. Nick Pearson, trust communications manager, who led the project, said it was important the trust?s e-communications were up-to-date. ?Patients are increasingly looking to the internet to find out more about local health services,? he said. ?I hope it will be a very valuable resource for our patients.?
