Tavistock AFC 10

SB Frankfort 1

PLAYING at home, Tavistock started in positive fashion with attack after attack on the Frankfort goal — only good keeping and wayward shooting stopped any goals in the first 10 minutes.

Davidson on 12 minutes hit a great shot from five metres outside the area to make it 1-0 and followed that screamer with a pass into the empty net after an Ayres shot was well saved.

Tavistock continued to press and were unlucky before an Ayres cross found Doyle in the six yard box and he duly buried the ball in the back of the net.

This was followed by a goal from Pridham who cut inside from the wing and shot past the oncoming keeper to make it 4-0.

The away side never gave up and scored to make it 4-1 to Tavistock at half-time.

Tavistock started the second half a little lazily and were nearly caught out by some sound moves from Frankfort before Pridham profitted from some indecisive defending to make it 5-1.

A foul on Robins, on the left, resulted in a free kick; a great inswinger from Ayres found Robins' head for 6-1.  Yet an other Tavistock attack caused mayhem in the penalty area and Phil Wearing smashed a volley from the penalty spot.

Sub Paul Wearing came on to hit his third goal in three games before Robins had yet again risen above all defenders to head his second goal from a great cross from the right.

Tavistock were not yet finished and some sound midfield moves gained space up front yet again and allowed Ayres to set up yet another for Pridham to complete his hat trick.
