Friendly Tavistock Colts 22 Wiveliscombe Colts 10 PLAYING down the slope first half Tavistock stole a lot of lineout posession through the efforts of new player Scott Pluckrose and Mike Morgan giving their backs plenty of ball to run. The pressure paid off and some great support play gave Tavistock their first try in the corner by centre Jack Hodges. Good scrummaging by Tavistock pack meant most of the first half was spent in attack. There were some great breaks by Andrew Smerdon at outside centre ? eventually his hard work paid off and he scored under the post, which he duly converted. Tavistock failed to catch the restart and put themselves under pressure but defended well and Mark Webber, at fly half, cleared his line, kicking the ball to the half way line. Another stolen lineout and Tavistock were back on the attack; some great quick rucks led by captain Hammy led to Wiveliscombe giving away a penalty which Smerdon converted making the half time score 15-0. At the start of the second half Tavistock had to soak up the pressure with Webber having to clear his line but Wiveliscombe?s big prop powered over for their first score, which was converted. Tavistock made seven changes, with prop Rory Gilmore playing his first game for the Colts. Once these players got running and others like Josh O?Neil started to use their head Tavistock started to dominate. An off side offence gave the visitors a penalty to bring the score to 15-10. The restart was gathered well by the Tavistock forwards; scrum half Josh Bancroft fed quick ball to Aaron Churchill and Alex Bointon breaking through only for Jake Chinn with a great run up the blindside held up short of the line; but the forwards drove him on and Ashley Martin powered over to score in the corner.
