Okehampton U9s 65 Launceston U9s 10 ALTHOUGH the scoreline suggests a big win, it was a very entertaining and hard fought game with both teams playing open flowing rugby. Okehampton put more pressure on Launceston when they had possession, and Okehampton?s tackling was superior, led by Ike Francis, who was outstanding. Tries came thick and fast with Will Cooper grabbing a hat-trick as did Billy Searl. Toby Gosling scored two at fly half and Josh Bickley on the wing scored two; Alfie Hawker scored one, Giles Heard one and Ike Frances one; an all round team performance. Okehampton got the first break with good play from the forwards to allow Chris Courtier to score the first try. Okehampton maintained a solid defence with good tackling by Buster, Matt, Oliver and Tom to keep the score 7-0 at half time. Okehampton maintained the pressure in the second half when Graham Benny was unlucky not to score when linking well with Chris. The All Blacks always looked dangerous and deserved to level the match.
