DUCHY Premier league football club Gunnislake recently held its end of season presentation evening at the Crooked Spaniard Inn, Cargreen. Many players, committee members and guests attended. Additionally the club was delighted to welcome a number of their sponsors as all that attended, 60 people in total, contributed to a highly enjoyable evening. Chairman Jim Wakem and secretary Michael Kinger lead the presentation process with president Godfrey Smale presenting the trophies. Tom Hall received the players? player award together with the leading score trophy. Andy Brenton received the manager?s award with Clint Nash being awarded the most improved player cup. Tracy Kelly received the club person of the year trophy. Mark Southcott, Matt Avery and Mark Warwick each received a most appearances trophy having each only missed one match. Finally flowers were presented to Margaret Mitchell to thank her (and Lynne Pote) for providing the post match refreshments, to Judith Wakeham and her daughters Deborah and Nichola for providing teas and snacks at matches and to the President?s wife Win Smale. The club?s annual meting will be held on Monday July 3 at 7.30pm in the Gunnislake Social Club. Training will be at Gunnislake playing fields on Wednesday evenings from 7pm commencing on July 5.
