With the new extension completed Tavistock Football Club held its annual presentation at the Red & Black Club for the first time since the early 90's.

The president Mr Geoffrey Cox QC, MP & wife Jeannie, Devon F A councillor and former Club secretary Phil Lowe and partner Sabrina were guests of honour.

90 guests sat down to a splendid 3 course buffet prepared by the Manageress of the Club June Smith.

The Chairman Derek Pethick spoke of the achievements both on and off the field.

The building of the extension and the continued refurbishment of the Club would see it move forward in a positive fashion and bring in more memberships and functions, he congratulated the first team with their end of season flourish that saw them gain automatic entry into the Premier Division of the Carlsberg South Western Peninsula League and on winning the Devon Premier Cup.

Glynn Hobbs picked up a trio of trophies for his all round performances throughout the season, retired Physio, Les Mewton, presented a perpetual Cup for leading Carlsberg Scorer, Glynn also picked up the George Witchell for leading club Scorer and was also voted players player of the season.

Father & Son Les & Dave Symons were recognised for their efforts picking up the Ron Bowman trophy & the President's Cup for Club person of the year respectively.

Gerry Smith & Fred Cackett were also recognised for their efforts in the building of the extension.

Outgoing Secretary Eric Pinch was also recognised for his loyal services to the Club in the last 12 years.
