WEST Devon children's charity CHICKS (Country Holidays for Inner City Kids) was delighted to receive a cheque for £1,500 from Premier Foods to buy new play equipment for children who visited its Moorland Retreat in Brentor.
Andrew Wheatley and Janine Harrison from Ambrosia visited the charity, which provides free respite breaks for disadvantaged children across the UK, to hand over the cheque in person and spend time with the children who were visiting the retreat.
The play equipment comes in addition to a new maze which Ambrosia also helped fund and build last year.
Tim Bunting, head of fundraising at CHICKS said: 'It is fantastic to have the support of local businesses and the incredibly generous donation of £1,500 from Ambrosia will go a long way towards helping us purchase new play equipment at our Moorland Retreat.
'The children's break at CHICKS may be the only one they will ever have so we want to make sure we can provide them with as many fun, new things as possible and the maze, as well as the new equipment, will certainly help us achieve this.'
