MEAVY and Yelverton Pre-school is celebrating its 40th anniversary and is inviting all past, present and future children and adults to attend a barbecue and games day on Saturday, July 6.

The pre-school has had a good year having been awarded a grant from Awards for All, FACE project (Farming and Community environment) and ended the award with a forest school at Cotehele 'Little Oaks'.

Activities included farm visiting, forest schools, trips to Buckland Abbey and the Eden Project, various workshops such as wet felt making, an African drummer, Dartmoor zoological visit, soft play sessions and Hullabaloo music sessions.

The pre-school has been involved with Meavy Oak Fair. Yelverton Co-op was thanked for its generous donation of sweets to help raise funds for the pre-school. Thanks were also expressed to Synergy of Yelverton for its help with the accountancy and to the parent-run committee for its hard work.

The celebratory event will run from 11.30am to 1.30pm at Meavy Parish Hall.
