AFTER a glorious win the previous week, Tavistock were all fired up for some thrilling hockey at Marjons.
Tavistock battled hard with some fantastic working up pitch between Lisa Butler, Gill Court and Kerry Sloman to drive the ball into the defence.
After many failed attempts and a nasty injury to Sarah Barratt, Tavistock passed the ball left to right then with a clever pass from Gill Court, with continual support from forwards Robynne Honey, Sarah Barratt and Sarah Court, Gaynor Pollard was successful with a powerful strike.
Tavistock worked fantastically as a team, with Lisa Butler and Gill Court acting as a strong backbone, passing and driving the ball, to give them another goal scored by Pollard.
Mannamead, eager to push their attacking campaign further, put Tavistock under pressure and astutely set up a goal.
Mannamead continued to battle hard, but Tavistock were not happy with the score 2-1 and wanted to secure the game with another goal.
Lisa Butler, who was having a superb game, with excellent support from Nell Trotter, worked hard driving the ball through the middle and with skilled passes between a mother-daughter combination of Gill and Sarah Court, pulled the ball out wide to Sarah Barratt. She quickly slotted the ball into the D, to allow Pollard her hat-trick.
