POSTMEN from Tavistock went ‘above and beyond’ last Friday when they battled treacherous conditions to deliver a telegram from The Queen to a woman in Yelverton.

Last Friday, postmen Ben Scott (pictured above), Simon Stacey, James Andrews, Josh Robins and Keith Hamblett successfully made it to Hart Care Nursing Home to deliver the Royal telegram to a resident who was celebrating her 100th birthday

The delivery amazed both the recipient of the telegram and the staff of the home that they braved the storm to make the delivery.

Katie Nordon, registered manager for Hart Care Nursing Home, praised the team: ‘They went above and beyond and came through the snow to deliver the telegram. We were delighted they would do this due to the road conditions — the resident was overwhelmed.’
