THIS crunch encounter was played on a quagmire of a pitch.  Despite the conditions, Crediton made the early running and scored two penalties in the first half without response from Tavistock. 

Despite good forward play, Tavistock could not find a way through Crediton's defence. 

With a slope on the pitch working in Tavistock's favour for the second half, the visitors looked comfortable from the outset, which released David Lunn to run in an early second half try to reduce the deficit to one.  Tavistock dominated the second half with an excellent hooking display by Ash Toll and a concerted effort by the pack as a whole, with noticeable performances by Nathan Sutton, Harry Birt and Ross Malton. 

The effort and dominance failed to result in any further score and Tavistock left Crediton without being able to turn possession into points.  Tavistock's player of the match was Jez Cramoysan.
